MIND THE GAP AFRICA

Founded in 2006 Mind the Gap Africa was born to give orphaned, abandoned or abused children in Zimbabwe a safe and loving environment to grown up in.

The Harvest Family Village was created to provide this safe space where children can live, grow and be nurtured.  The village and team ensure each child reaches their full capacity giving them the skills to see them into adulthood.  Harvest Village now houses 22 children and we are continuing to build to give a safe place for up to 96 children.

Mind the Gap Africa speak out on behalf of children and young people who have no voice and are a resource for local organisations who are able to care for these children.

Donate

Any donation you can make will be put to good use.  We will use it to continue to build so we can offer more spaces for children who need us.  We also invest money into ensuring the Village is as self-sufficient as possible by introducing crop growing and looking after animals for their eggs and milk.

Education

We also run a feeding programme twice a week for the entire school school where several of our children attend by offering bread and eggs produced at the Village.  The teachers have noticed a significant difference in concentration.  We’d love to offer this 7 days a week.

Farming

Our plan is to build two ponds. With one already built and already producing fish.  We need to build another.  We are looking to purchase a JoJo tank and tower as well as pipes and the equipment needed to build another food source to ensure the Village starts to become self-sufficient.
